The freshmen convocation is scheduled for Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 4:30-5:30PM at the Pan American Center and is open to all first-time Las Cruces campus freshmen, their families and faculty/staff who would like to attend.  Upper-class students will take part in the Freshman Convocation as presenters and speakers.  The Convocation will include a welcome from President Ferme and the Associated Students of New Mexico State University President.  University administrators, faculty and staff will also be in attendance to celebrate the commencement of our Freshmen’s academic journey. The Convocation will be a student-led event with motivating speakers, and student performances. The Convocation will lead into the First-Year Walk, an Aggie Tradition.  Registration for Freshman Convocation and First-Year Walk are not required.
